“Cynthia McLaughlin, a director and choreographer, in collaboration with Chattman Photography has chosen exterior sites in Greenfield to exhibit large-scale portraits atoledo of characters from the multi-media performance work in process “The Art of Leaving”. Inspired by dance and theater”s tenuous nature, McLaughlin seeks to fossilize the characters she

and her collaborators are developing, expanding the very nature of performance to exist outside the time and place

of the lit stage. Through this work she asks the questions “When do we stay?”, “When do we leave?”, “What do we preserve?” , “What do we abandon?””
