I GOT A TRUTH TO TELL!
Krista worked as an Artist Facilitator with Skywatchers, (2015-17) a project of ABD Productions, engaging with both adult and youth residents in the Tenderloin district in San Francisco to build performance work. The Skywatchers project is directed by Anne Bluethental, in collaboration with an incredible team of Artist Facilitators, educators, dancers and organizers.

“I Got A Truth To Tell” was the culmination of a year of community dialogue, storytelling, and artistic creation around themes of ancestry, cultural gas lighting, and the radical act of having each other’s backs. Led by the inimitable vocalist and choral director, Melanie DeMore, and featuring the Skywatchers ensemble Rita, Kim, Wanda, Leroy Staples, Steve, Earl, Calvin, Don and more + Artists Facilitators, including: Artistic Director Anne Bluethenthal, Shakiri, Jose Abad, Rama Mahesh Hall, Sammay Dizon, Malia, Yanina Rivera, and Krista DeNio. Participants and audience members enjoyed the music, dance, song, and visual art that makes Skywatchers not only an aesthetic experience, but a celebration of resistance to oppression, and an affirmation of community.
